Ruby or Not Ruby

While resting
In the late afternoon
My back to the sun,
I watched the breezes
Trouble the leaves
Of the cherry trees.
One too old to bear,
One too young.
Then in a ruffling
Of the leaves
A flash of red,
A little jewel,
A ruby of delight
Caught in the sun,
A lumen of light;
Nature's gem,
Beautifully bright.
